Simulation

We specialize in the development and use of two types of simulation tools for decision support and team learning.

Computer Simulations

We develop computer models with clients to build shared understanding among stakeholders and to test ideas about the specific challenges they face. While easy for teams to use, these simulations reflect the complex, interdependent elements of the business and changes over time. Teams learn about effective management of the business while testing ideas and experimenting with alternative future scenarios.

We have built computer-based simulations for clients to support strategic planning, facilities and business planning, process redesign and process improvement. See examples

Board Games and Physical Experiences

We also offer simulations that do not require computers. These may be board games or experiential exercises that are designed to simulate a system that is not performing as well as desired. While they cannot represent the level of complexity that computer simulations offer, board games offer rich team-learning experiences that are remembered long after the occasion.
